From the That's Gameable department: Researchers 'reboot' pig brains hours after animals died https://www.theguardian.com/science/2019/apr/17/scientists-reboot-pig-brain-hours-after-animals-died-yale-university-researchers So how far away is this from "Brain in a Jar" technology? The synthetic blood was deliberately doped to block the possibility of the restoration of consciousness as the researchers were not prepared to deal with the ethical quandaries that would result. Oh and BrainEx sounds like an excellent supervillain name to me!

now we know that Britain has been suffering from an onslaught of garbled telepathic suggestions from the future. Someone was trying to warn us about PigBrainEx, but it came through as mad cow, David Cameron and br(ain)exit.

How do we know you're not a donkey-brained man?

O HO HO HO! IS 80 YEARS TOO LATE, IMBECILE TINKERERS FROM UNIVERSITY OF BUSH CAPITALIST SKULL AND BONES CONSPIRATORS! ANIMAL HEAD REVIVAL IS SHINING ACHIEVEMENT OF SOVIET MEDICAL SCIENCE ALREADY WHEN YOUR GRANDFATHER IS SMOKING FIRST MARLBORO CIGARETTE! http://www.strangemag.com/recentadditions/dogheads.html

@M Nicksic, not sure whether to read that as an honest joke or a gratuitous insult. I don't believe we've had any previous contact so I have no basis on which to gauge. I know I'd be a lot more relaxed if you had just responded to the content of the OP.
Handy Haversack @ 2019-04-18 14:07:24
@Richard and Roger, I gotta say: Feels to me like you're *both* right! Recently rewatched the movie of Whisperer in Darkness from a few years ago, @Mamading. I think we're ready for jars in brains. As long as they are water tight, we might need them in a few decades!
Richard G @ 2019-04-18 17:34:56
Sorry, I can’t resist: https://lurkerablog.wordpress.com/2012/07/10/burning-brains/ ...I’ve been ok with M Nicksic in the past - I think he was joking.
Mamading Ceesay @ 2019-04-18 18:03:16
Having recently read most of Space-Age Sorcery, Burning Brains is a great complement @Richard. Regarding the other matter, I'll take your word for it.

@M Nicksic, Okay, I get it now. We're cool. Video was hilarious.
Mamading Ceesay @ 2019-04-19 11:27:11
@M Nicksic, BTW I'm a Brit so there will be cultural references that we don't share, which could and has in this case lead to potential misunderstandings.
Handy Haversack @ 2019-04-19 13:14:17
Think how much worse it will be when we're all brains in separate jars. Defund big Brain Jar now!
