I wrote some spells... http://dragons.ie/rewriting-the-b-x-spell-lists-1st-level/

The best thing about your list was that I started thinking of variants, interpretations, extra bits to go with the spells, and setting and adventure fragments. Nothing wrong with your list as is, but it definitely inspired some ideas. Great to see a reference to so many other influences too, classics both old, and new. I have Wonder and Wickedness, and am much impressed by it. I am thinking of making it the basis of magic for my β€˜fantasy’ Flashing Blades game, and you’ve provided a lot more inspiration.

...if you’d prefer, I can move this comment to your blog. Ever since the demise of G+, for some reason my ability to update blogs from my tablet using my Google Account is somewhat hit and miss.

Good to see spells with trade-offs, multiple uses, and odd rarely useful side effects.

Thanks lasagners! Roger: yeah, I guess my mind is in a space of lateral thinking these days. My players don't read the spell books, so they continually ask me what they can do with the spells they have, trying to come up with clever uses to solve problems. Alistair: please, that'd be cool. I don't think you can link your Google account on Wordpress anyway. Let me know if it doesn't work.
