Yesterday I ran a game for 10 players. It was a dwarfland game, so it was quite easy to run, but every time I run a game for 9+ players I end up physically drained. At Garycon 9 at some point I had eighteen players. The day after I had fluids uncontrollably coming out of every orifice, high fever, and hallucinations.

pfff but how was the game?? ...stay healthy, man.

the game was apparently fun?

The game was loads of fun - even though my gnome now has mummy rot. Aside from conventions or one-off games, I personally stay away from such large player groups. They mostly only work because everyone at the table is invested in having fun, but long-term survival of their characters or even a coherent story is more of an aside.

"Oh, you're here for Paolo's game? I'll need to see your ticket stub and immunisation passport..."

I got turned into a Zube.

Hope this session wasn't too tough on you Paolo. I found it great fun and enjoyed how you ran it. My friend's PC got killed trying to eat a black pudding that wasn't fully cooked, but she just created another PC and got stuck back in!

Fuck that shit, I'll run a game for 6 people if I'm feeling very crazy/energetic but no more. 4 is optimal.
