For BECMI: Ant, Silver Giant AC: 4, HD 3*, MV 360' (120'), Attacks 1, Dmg 1d6, No. Appearing 2d4 (4d6), Save As: F2, ML 7, INT 1, AL N, XP 125. Bane of adventures, and often tamed and kept by settlements of Lycanthropes, the Giant Silver Ant is similar to the dreaded Aurumvorax, only consuming Silver. While they can subsist on other substances, the smell of silver drives them into a frenzy, where they utilize their prodigious speed to quickly swarm their prey and their sharp mandibles to snip off scabbards and belt pouches.

Given that Silver Ants are desert creatures, I would say that the specific Lycanthropes in question would be Wererats and possibly Werehyenas if you fancy a bit of homebrew.
